To our valued clients,

We appreciate your patience as we continue to provide veterinary care during this pandemic and adapt to a new way of practicing veterinary medicine. Our team misses having you all in our building and want to assure you we are still loving your pets like our own while they are in our care.

With the positive cases rising in the capital district we are doing our absolute best to keep our clients and team safe so we may remain open for our patients. To do so requires us to make decisions that at times will result in us having an employee shortage. With less working employees and still providing curbside care there will be times that we may get behind in our schedule during the day. There is no way to predict when we will have urgent visits/emergencies that delay the daily operations of the hospital.

We ask for your continued patience and want you to know that although we may busy, our medications may take longer to fill, a call back for non-urgent matters may not be as prompt, and your appointment may take longer we are still providing the same level of care you have come to expect from us. With our team your pet is still the main focus and will receive the same love and attention as always.

We are always looking for ways to improve our patient and client care and are excited to say we have something coming soon to help with our efficiency while providing curbside care. Watch for updates about this!

CURBSIDE SERVICE (PRESCRIPTIONS/FOOD): Please call us 48 hours ahead of time with your request. We'll have your order prepared for you and text or call when ready. Please call us when you are in the parking lot and we will bring your receipt (or request an emailed copy) and product directly to your car!

ONLINE PHARMACY (PRESCRIPTIONS/FOOD): Did you know that we have an online pharmacy? Many medications and food items can be ordered online and shipped directly to your home! Please allow 7-10 days for this process. Or you may choose the rush delivery option for faster shipping.

To our valued clients,

As most of you may know, Veterinary Practices are now allowed to be "open" in all regions which was recently announced by the Governor. We'd like to take the time to reach out and tell you what this means for our clients, patients and team moving forward.

First we'd like to say how grateful we are for all of you who have been understanding that there was so much these past couple of months that was out of our control. Although we have remained open throughout this pandemic, we had to
follow many restrictions and guidelines that were given to us. This meant having to cancel routine appointments, surgeries, grooming, daycare, boarding etc. This was so incredibly hard for us as a team and we know for you, being told the services your pet needed weren't considered "essential". We truly appreciate all of our clients that have been so patient and understanding during the cancellations and rescheduling process.

Moving forward.. the Governor has lifted these strict guidelines we have been following and we are now able to reschedule all of those services we had to hold off on. Though this is absolutely wonderful news, we are choosing to not go back to the complete "norm" quite yet. Although it would make things easier for all of us and we would LOVE to see all of you here in the office, the risk of opening our doors is not worth the safety and well being of our patients, clients and team members.

4 Paws Veterinary Care will continue to operate curbside until further notice. We are working to allow pet parents into our hospital over the next few weeks but are not there yet. We feel that the safest way to ensure not only the safety of everyone but to make sure that all of our services stay available to you and our patients is that we continue to limit exposure within our clinic. We will continue to update everyone as we make any changes to our current protocol. We ask when you visit to please continue to call us at 518-300-4279 when you arrive, remain in your car until your appointment and to please continue wearing masks when interacting with our team.

We appreciate the kindness and patience shown to our staff as we keep learning to navigate through this together. We will keep pushing to do our very best to accommodate everyone's needs and ask that you remain mindful as we reschedule appointments that we are booking out further than usual, and are aware our phone lines are very busy. We are grateful and full of gratitude for your continuous support. We can't wait to see you soon!

For the safety and health of our team, and to be able to continue providing exemplary care during these trying times, we will be temporarily closing the office on Fridays until further notice.
Our Telemedicine Consults will still be available 7 days a week.

We encourage you to contact Dr. Wiggins at this link www.gettelevet.com/owners if you have any medical concerns regarding your pet and we are closed or you just prefer not to leave home for a visit.

To our valued clients,

We appreciate your continued patience as we update you regarding any NYS mandated restrictions on Veterinary Services. Although we are categorized as an essential business, there are certain guidelines we MUST follow to keep our clients, community and team safe.

Effective 3/22/20 at 8pm NYS has stated that Veterinary Hospitals are only permitted to provide emergency care along with treatment of a condition that would otherwise be life threatening to the pet or community if not treated. All routine or non-urgent services such as preventative exams, vaccinations, grooming/bathing/nail trims, elective surgeries and daycare are temporarily on hold and we are currently calling clients with scheduled routine appointments to reschedule at a later date.

Our team is still available for you and your pet and we encourage you to contact us with any concerns or questions regarding your pet and their health. We have a team at 4 Paws on site to treat pets in need of medical care.

We are pleased to announce the new option of Tele-Medicine appointments for non emergency evaluations during this health crisis.

Due to Dr. Wiggins' asthma, she was instructed to remain home full time by her doctor in an effort to protect her the best we can. As we all know, Dr. Wiggins likes to keep busy and it is very difficult for her to be away from her devoted team, her loyal clients, and her beloved patients during this time. To stay connected, and assist the best she can from home, Dr. Wiggins will be providing Telemedicine visits. This is also a great alternative for clients who are staying home as much as possible.  If your pet has a virtual visit with Dr. Wiggins and she advises that your pet visits 4 Paws for more care or diagnostics your virtual consult fee will cover the initial follow up exam/office visit fee at 4 Paws for the same condition within 24 hours.

Due to the rising number of cases of COVID-19 in the area we are going to be temporarily changing the workflow of our practice. We are doing this in an effort to continue to provide the medical care your pet needs while keeping you, your family and our team safe. Effective as of Tuesday March 17th, only team members of 4 Paws Veterinary Care staff will be permitted inside of the clinic building.

We wanted you to be aware of the following options we have made available for the care of your pet. As well, we are recommending you have an emergency kit for your pet(s)with a minimum of 2 weeks worth of food, water, medications and litter prepared.

CURBSIDE SERVICE (PRESCRIPTIONS/FOOD): Please call us 24-48 hours ahead of time and let us know the products or medications your pets will need. We'll have your ordered prepared for you and then call over the phone for payment. Call us when you are in the parking lot and we will bring your receipt and product directly to your car! *Please note to provide enough medication to all pets in need we will only be filling 30 days or less on any non preventative prescription.

CURBSIDE SERVICE APPOINTMENTS: Schedule your appointment as normal and then call us at 518-300-4279 from the parking lot when you arrive. We will have a team member discuss your needs and concerns during that phone call. An assistant will then come and get your pet and take them inside for their scheduled appointment. Your veterinarian will then call you with exam notes and recommendations after the exam. Verbal consent for treatment and diagnostics will be authorized at this time. Once the care for your pet is complete your designated customer care team member will call with the findings and recommendations and a client service coordinator will take payment over the phone. Your pet will then be returned to you at your vehicle.

CURBSIDE ADMITS (DAYCARE/BOARDING/SURGERY)- Paperwork will be prepared prior to the admit day and we ask you to call the office when you arrive at 518-300-4279. An assigned assistant will come to your car to admit your pet.
