Jen G

Jen grew up in Red Hook, NY and currently resides in Castleton, NY. She has always had a fascination with nature and the animals within it, and knew she wanted to make a difference in animals lives. Her first job was at a Veterinary Hospital, and then she went on to attend Suny Ulster and achieved an AAS degree in Veterinary Technology with High Honors, and receiving academic awards through out.

Being a Veterinary Technician is an important role in her everyday life. At 4 Paws she provides knowledge, compassion, hard work and dedication to the pets who visit. To Jen, being a Technician means being a "jack of all trades"; if you see it you do it no matter what the task. Jen is constantly continuing her education to learn something new daily, to keep up with the developing medicine. Her constant desire to keep learning has made her the perfect Surgical Technician for 4 Paws.

When not working and learning, Jen can be found spending time with her growing family which includes her significant other Joe, their 2 daughters, son, dog, cat and bunny. When she finds any free time she enjoys music, dancing and any outdoor activity.

Katie M

Katie grew up in East Greenbush and graduated from Russell Sage with Program and Project Honors in Biology in 2013. She is passionate about all that she does, which includes riding horses, playing the clarinet, continuing her education, and her furry "kids" that complete her home. Katie was a proud member of the Empire State Wind Orchestra and has been competing for years in various disciplines with her horses.

Katie decided she wanted to pursue a career of helping pets and their owners when she did an internship at a local Veterinarian office during college. She has started school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician, and is excited about her future with the 4 Paws team. When she isn't studying, Katie can be found hiking, swimming, or shopping with her lab "Coco Chanel" or little Chihuahua "Wilbur".

Here at 4 Paws Katie is a friendly, helpful part of the team; her positive energy is contagious and she goes out of her way to make each client and patient the center of her attention.

Lori W

Lori has been with the 4 Paws team since 2000 when she started working in the mornings prior to starting her day at her other job at RPI. She is the first person that the pets see every day and they all greet her with excitement. Lori has helped care and comfort the sick and spent much time coaxing them to eat when they didn't want to. Her love of animals and her special bond with each one is very rewarding for her. Animals are as at ease with her as she is with them, especially the nervous and anxious animals. She says that even a challenging pet needs love, and that being able to win them over is her greatest reward. Patience and perseverance and allowing the animal time to adjust is her formula. If asked who she loves the most, she says everyone she cares for.

Lori is patient, caring and spends a lot of time with each pet when they are here. If you listen closely you will often hear her say to each one “be good now and Lori will see you tomorrow and Lori loves you” as she does her last check on each one before she leaves for the day. She makes a point to know each pet’s likes and dislikes and leaves notes to inform the rest of the staff. Lori will not rest until each and every pet seems content and comfortable away from home.

Olivia N

Olivia was born and raised in Wynantskill, where she has had a passion and love for all animals for as long as she can remember. Ever since she was little, she has wanted to work with and care for animals, and as soon as her family adopted their first dog and joined the 4 Paws family, she knew she wanted to work at 4 Paws. Olivia became part of the 4 Paws team in January of 2016, and has loved every minute of it ever since.

As a Kennel Assistant, she provides care, playtime, and love for all of the patients, and she especially loves visiting and playing outside with each patient. She enjoys getting to know each pet’s unique personality, and always does her best to make every patient feel safe and comfortable during their time at 4 Paws!

Aside from working, Olivia is a full-time student at Siena College, where she is considering studying veterinary practices. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family, including her dog, Aria, and her cat, Ginger, as well as go for runs, hang out with friends, and listen to music.

Sierra R

Our dearest Sierra passed away suddenly in a car accident on Saturday 2/17/18. Sierra has always been a beautiful light at 4 Paws and had such a wonderful impact on everyone she met. Anyone that knew Sierra was changed for the better just by knowing her. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.. Our hearts are with her friends and family.

We also wanted the world to know that Sierra was an organ donor and her heart will live on through a three year old baby! Because of Sierra, this child’s heart valves were able to be replaced and will now beat the way it was intended to. She continues to amaze us. She would be so happy knowing that part of her helped save someone else. We find comfort in knowing this.

Sierra was raised in Sarasota, FL. and returned to her original home of Albany, NY. when she reached adulthood. Sierra started as a Kennel Assistant at a local Animal Hospital and found that she loved the veterinary field.

In 2013 Sierra joined the 4 Paws family as a veterinary assistant and the Laboratory Team Leader and immediately found that she enjoyed assisting the Doctors in their work of providing excellent care to patients, as well as working with the owners in tailoring patient care to the individual. She believed that clients and their beloved pets teach us valuable lessons, and that we all learn something new everyday.

Sierra enjoyed spending her free time hiking, fishing, hunting and camping. For relaxation she liked to sketch and paint.

Sierra will forever be a part of our 4 Paws Team <3
