The hospital is closed on Sunday. 2. Do I need to have an appointment? Yes, patients are seen by appointment. 3. What forms of payment do you accept? Cash, Check, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. We are working on offering Care Credit which should be available soon. 4. Can I make payments? Payment is required at the time of service. 5. At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered? The safest time for spaying and neutering is approximately 4-6 months of age. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help assure that your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure. Current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery. Also a pre-anesthetic blood screen is strongly recommended but not required prior to undergoing anesthesia and surgery. 6. What is the pre-anesthetic blood screening? This is a blood test that is performed in the hospital prior to surgery. It tests the organ functions and blood counts of your pet. The pre-anesthetic blood screening helps identify internal disease or concerns that can be corrected prior to putting your pet under anesthesia. 7. How long do the sutures stay in after my pet's surgery? Procedures involving sutures require them to be removed in 14 days following the surgery. 8. Is it a good idea to let my pet have at least one litter? No, there is no advantage to letting your pet have one litter. However there are plenty of advantages to having you pet spayed or neutered. These advantages include decreasing the chances of breast tumors later in life, decreasing the chance of cystic ovaries and uterine infections later in life, decreasing the desire to roam the neighborhood, decreasing the incidence of prostate cancer later in life, helping prevent spraying and marking, and also decreases the surplus of unwanted puppies and kittens. 9. Do you board pets? Yes, starting late 2010 in our new facility we do boarding for our clients. We have boarding space for both dogs and cats. We also can board other small animals, but you will be required to bring your own food for your pet. 10. What are your kennels like? We are very proud of our boarding facility and encourage you to schedule a tour of the facility prior to making your decision for boarding your pet. Our dog runs are indoor/outdoor and each has its own private sitting area. There are 3 luxury, over-sized runs for our largest guests or for two smaller dogs. There is also indoor-only housing. Dogs in these kennels have a minimum of 3 daily exercise periods while boarding. The cat boarders are kept in an area separated from the dogs by specialized sound-proofing walls to help assure their comfort. Most of the cat boarding consists of condos with no bars on them. The cats are kept safe by clear doors so they have a full view of the outdoors or of the fish tank in the lobby. Blankets and towels are provided for our boarders, but we suggest that you bring your own food to help reduce the stress to your pet's digestive system. You are welcome to use our food if you prefer at no additional cost to you. Please advise us at the time of check-in if your pet has ANY food allergies. |
